When I first heard DJ La Cat original, the hook instantly caught me - I knew I had to do something with it. I`ve been working with vocalists for nearly 30 years, so bringing in Aminata Seydi - a close friend and an incredible singer - felt like the natural choice to reinterpret the chorus. At a time when AI-generated vocals are everywhere, it`s important to me to keep the human element - the feeling, the emotion - something that, at least for now, can`t truly be replicated by AI. The result is a disco fusion - a sound I`ve always loved, and a chance to explore something fresh again.
