French-born, Barcelona-based DJ and producer Jo Kazan is set to unveil his latest exploration, 'Item 9' EP. Releasing as the 73rd catalog entry (HEAR0073) this EP welcomes Jo Kazan to HEARec's roaster. Drawing deep inspiration from the synth-driven energy of the 80s and 90s, Kazan continues to refine his signature 'retrofuturistic' sound. 'Item 9' is a masterclass in genre-blurring, weaving together Indie Dance and Dark Disco. Since establishing himself in the Barcelona underground scene, Jo Kazan has become a respected name in the global electronic community. As the co-founder of the Kazanova Club event series and the Cabana Libre Records label, Kazan has dedicated himself to nurturing underground talent while delivering high-energy sets at world-renowned venues.

Let us present: A Retro Futuristic Collage Vol. 3 Initially, these compilations were meant to arrive once every Earth year. But as anyone travelling through different dimensions knows, time behaves a little differently out there. Somewhere along the journey, one year in space quietly turned into two years on Earth. Now, as we return from our latest orbit through the retro-futuristic universe, the coordinates seem to have shifted slightly. The signal feels a little more progressive this time, drifting somewhere between trance, nu disco and house, yet it still echoes the 80s. As the universes keep colliding, depending on where you're tuning in from, you might also hear Indie Dance, Dark Disco, EBM or Progressive House. Maybe even Melodic House steering the ship for a moment before disappearing into another timeline. We're not entirely sure what year it is anymore. The past, the present and the future are all blending together again. But somehow, we know you're going to like it. Welcome back to the retro-futuristic universe. Enjoy!
