A man of many aliases, Romeo Ugalde channels decades of electronic exploration through differing musical personalities. Delator joins Cadenza with Ancient Rhythms. Three tracks diving deep into the intricacies of atmospheric minimal. Opening the release with 'Ancient Rhythms' brings an immediate eerie presence. Shadowy textures growl as deep grooves meet intricate melodies and a haunting narrative. Twisting through the darkness, down into the underground, held at the border with echoing pads. 'Time of Decay' comes from a collaboration with fellow Mexican artist Caba (MX), a polite dance of keys over a deep fuzz. Mildly unsettling yet deeply captivating. Delator closes out the selection with 'Midnight Bliss', a percussion-led groove that dances between hypnotic ambience, pulsating rhythms and a sultry mood. A meticulous selection from a purveyor of deep minimalism.
