Bristol's Ben Pest returns to Co-Accused Records with four drops of full-pelt electro and techno on Lacquer of Empathy EP. A respected live artist and producer known for his production nouse, hes taken his sound to Co-Accuseds Glasgow parties, Tresor and Glastonbury and released across respected imprints that include Mechatronica, Cultivated Electronics, I Love Acid and more. This release is exactly what hes become known for turning out: rave-touched and highly effective dancefloor material. The EP opens with 'D-Transfer', a pacey piece of machine funk which leads into Mam Assid which right off the bat is an intensive, driving acid techno number. Over on the B Side, Shruthi EB is a twisted machine workout, building and rebuilding through distorted synths before locking into a relentless groove. After being self-released on digital format on his own label The Glutch now gets a vinyl pressing on this EP riffing off a mechanical melody over an air-tight beat. To close out the EP is a digital bonus track with a Rolling Edit of Shruthi EB.
