Amour Propre bring their current run of releases to Innellea's belonging imprint with the 'Aparté' EP, rooted in indie dance but split across two different moods. 'Alpha' opens with lightly broken drums, restrained synth work and a cinematic atmosphere. The track takes its time, building through small shifts in rhythm and texture rather than obvious peaks. It has a slightly futuristic feel, but stays grounded enough for the club. 'Acid Trip' is more immediate. A prominent acid line drives the track, supported by tight drums, filtered elements and a rougher groove. There is a clear French touch to the production, recalling the more direct and playful side of Daft Punk without turning into a retro exercise. The EP arrives during a strong period for Amour Propre, with the duo continuing to refine a sound that sits between indie dance, house and more leftfield club music. 'Aparté' captures both sides well: 'Alpha' is the more cinematic piece, while 'Acid Trip' goes straight for the floor.
A triple-threat of emotional touchment: Amour Propre is back on Diynamic with "Rock Like This". First track „Blurred Signals" ignites the floor with jumping, strong bass synths before the title track snakes through the crowd with sneaky vocals and an elevated note. The journey rounds out with „I Am Zoned" together with Mooglie - swinging synths and bumping vocals combining into a masterclass of club energy that hits every corner from every angle.
