40 Thieves are back on Roam Recordings, teaming up with vocalist Alona to release their latest cosmic disco gem, Shake You Off. Fans of the trio (Layne Fox, Corey Black, and Jay Williams) might recognize them from the dancefloor classic Dont Turn it Off (I Think I Like It), their eclectic album The Sky is Yours, or their previous Roam hit Take Me Im Yours. This new single delivers a dancefloor-ready track featuring Alonas vocals layered over lush electronic melodies. The release also features two standout remixes from Roam Recordings alumni Shubostar and label boss Jason Peters. Shubostar kicks things off, maintaining the warm, inviting vibe while introducing a dash of Italo disco flair. Label founder Jason Peters takes a different approach, stripping down the original to create a deep, pulsating, heavy version. Rounding out the release are an instrumental and radio-friendly edit of the original track. This project has strong San Francisco roots, and we couldnt be more excited to collaborate with our Bay Area family on this release. But beyond our personal ties, we truly believe this record is something special. Art by Cristina Capetillo.
Label boss Jason Peters returns with a new EP on his own imprint, Roam Recordings. In this latest offering titled In the Dark, JP collaborates with Alona of 40 Thieves fame, crafting a fun yet moody dark disco experience. The EP kicks off with the title track In the Dark, a dancefloor-ready anthem with arpeggiated basslines and energetic melodies underpinning Alonas sultry voice. Accompanying the original is a remix from the talented Vhyce, who pushes In the Dark into an even darker realm, layering in classic drum machine beats and intense, serious vibes. The EP also features an instrumental version of In the Dark for those who crave the pure essence of the track. Rounding out the release is The Way You Are, a hypnotic, driving tune that pulses with energy.
