SHDW's label, Mutual Rytm hits a notable milestone at the start of 2024 as it turns two years old and hits its 20th release. To mark the occasion, the carefully curated compilation 'Federation Of Rytm III' arrives on February 2nd with a 30-track 5 x 12" boxset vinyl release and a further 6 digital bonus tracks. Mutual Rytm is synonymous with serious, no-frills techno. It is a go-to for the worlds most influential DJs and a home to some of the scene's most innovative producers. Over the last two years, it has explored several shades of sound, always with high-quality production and forward-thinking styles. A fine balance has always been struck between new and emerging talents and established names with plenty more to say, and that is the case on this collection which features the legendary likes of Blawan, Gary Beck, Colin Benders, The Advent and Dax J next to ANNĒ, Alarico, JakoJako, Chlär, LDS and many more. Founder SHDW says, "I've poured my heart into curating a compilation of 36 tracks, a reflection of my deepest musical passions. The lineup is stacked with incredible artists, and it captures the label's essence - a fusion of artists spanning generations, united by a shared spirit and aesthetic, creating a seamless 'mutual rhythm'." Ribé & Roll Dann serve up potent techno on Mutual Rytm with Virtus Occulta. Built around concepts of unacknowledged work and enduring merit, the release marks their first EP on SHDWs widely respected label. Based in Toledo and Madrid, Ribé & Roll Dann are exciting residents at Laster Madrid and Lanna Club, two of Spains leading venues. Emerging as driving forces in their national techno scene, they have also made an impact on the global landscape, making wider moves through collaborative releases on Klockworks, and individual outings on a number of other influential labels. Having previously featured in the labels Federation of Rytm IV compilation, the pair make their full EP label on SHDWs Mutual Rytm imprint to open March with a deep dive into their expansive sound. Opener Sub Terra is a pure club tool that is direct, physical and rooted in the underground with a seriously heavy low end. Extra Lumen is more restrained but still built on a steady, forceful rhythm with controlled energy that prefers to operate in the shadows. Ars Non Placens stays true to the idea that music is not made to please, but to exist on its own terms with hunched drums and dubby undercurrents. Next, Meritum Negatum fizzes with static electrical charge and minimal drum funk and is a direct reflection on overlooked skill and unacknowledged work, before closer Virtus Persistens delivers a continuity and a steady pulse rather than an explosive ending, keeping you locked throughout. In addition, three digital bonus cuts come alongside the vinyl package. Labor Inauditus speaks to hours of technique, production and booth experience that remain invisible. Ive lived with most of these tracks for over a year, testing them on the dancefloor and fine-tuning the selection. Each comes from artists I deeply admire, making this compilation a snapshot of the labels evolution and a glimpse of whats next. Following their debut on Klockworks in 2023, Spanish duo Ribe & Roll Dann return on Ben Klocks celebrated imprint with Klockworks 40, delivering a pure driving techno four-tracker sure to be heard on dancefloors and festivals across the globe. From the kinetic groove of opener Interludio to the sharp-edged energy of Tregua, the A-side captures the duos command of movement and space on the dancefloor. The flip side pushes further with Demencia hauntigly rolling in with a darker, hypnotic mood and El Nexo showcases yet again immersive sound design and wonky corrosive rhythms. Rounding off the EP digital-only slow-burner Secuela lingers long after the final beat with its minimalistic yet powerful style.
