We all feel lost and disconnected at times. Its only human. But what if these moments of uncertainty actually guide us to brighter futures? What if the barriers that exist within us are merely the ones we created ourselves. Its the same with music. Its human nature to categorize the sounds we hear and label them in a way that makes sense. But these barriers too can be broken down. And they have been, in the twenty-first installment of the annual year mix series: A State of Trance Year Mix 2024 (Mixed by Armin van Buuren).Starting with an inspirational intro narrated by none other than Moby, this 113-track, year-culminating mix is designed to push boundaries, weaving together the sounds that share a soul. Comprising productions from scene favorites such as Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, and Ben Gold, as well as those of Ferry Corsten, KI/KI and Ben Hemsley, the year mix upholds its trance legacy whilst embracing the sounds that were once given a different label.Dont let the barriers dictate the limit. Lean into them till they break, for the world beyond may add some color to yours. All together, in A State of Trance.

A natural follow-up to Breathe In in both sound and meaning, Breathe Out sees a new, healthier and reconnected Armin van Buuren deliver the second and final part of his ninth studio album, Breathe. Inspired by a stronger sense of self, more creativity and an even more dauntless approach to studio work, the album comprises a total of 38 tracks, from chart-topping hits to surprising collaborations (e.g. Pendulum & Rob Swire, Sam Gray, Moby, Bon Jovi) and new tracks, such as Let It Be For Love (feat. Jai Ryu) and Gimme The Love (with Seth Hills, feat. Alessia Labate). It is chockful of sound fusions and expert songwriting, showing that a balanced mind and lifestyle can lead to wonder. Breathe Out really shows how far Ive come, not just as an artist, but as a person. This album is about creative freedom, living fully, and putting everything Ive learned – especially through my journey with mental health and self-growth – into the music. In many ways, it feels like coming full circle. – Armin van Buuren
