Hope (Brother) was written in the week after my brother passed. It is about the visceral hope you reach for when music becomes the only way to hold yourself together. The A-side is a house record built around his voice. He isn't a feature; he is a collaborator, with his name officially recognised as an artist on the release. This EP marked a total shift from my usual functional style - it was a purely instinctive, emotional way of coping with grief. The B-side is a beatless version that emerged by chance. Stripped of its rhythm, it revealed a depth of emotion that led to it being played at my brother's wake. Even the artwork mirrors this bond, recreating a photo of us in the Scream Soda style.
