  • Rosebank
BeatTracker #11 Top Releases in Downtempo

Made By Pete's debut album 'ROSEBANK' showcases the artists' eclectic taste, with a varied sound pallet spanning shades of house, trip-hop, indie-dance and electronica.\n\nNamed after the road he lives on, where the album was recorded at his home studio, 'Rosebank' is a concept that formed from a desire to expand on his usual club focused, dancefloor sound. Known for singles like Horizon Red [Crosstown Rebels, 2023], Fires [Crosstown Rebels, 2024] and In My Head [Life In Colour, 2025], a longer format album has afforded him the freedom to showcase a different side to his musical rhythm.\n\n' In the context of my career as a DJ/Producer, when I release a single it has to fit into a mould to make sense; a club ready dance-floor focused track that I can play in my DJ sets on tour. However, over the years, there have been many times when ideas have landed that I love, but they don't necessarily fit into that mould. Instead of forcing them down a path that they were never meant to follow, I decided to let things flow naturally, ending up with a body work that represents all of my musical influences and tastes to date.'\n\n'It's given me full creative closure (at least for the time being) which is quite a rare feeling as an artist. After allowing myself the freedom to create without boundaries, I've ended up with an album that I'm really proud of. Then I was able re-interpret each of the singles to make club versions that I can play in my DJ sets. This is my musical definition of 'having your cake and eating it'.\n\n'Loved You Most' Ft Chelsea Hines is the first single to drop on the 27th March. It started to gather momentum within the DJ community after Damian Lazarus played it Day Zero Festival Tulum in January. This coincided with an impromptu studio jam shared on MBP's Instagram channel that rode the algorithm wave to glory, prompting half a million plays and thousands of comments requesting the name of the song. The album version of 'Loved You Most' is a far more delicate, downtempo affair, captured perfectly by the live music video with Chelsea Hines joining Made By Pete at Peter & Paul Church in New Orleans, Louisiana.\n\nThe second single from the album 'Go' is a collaboration with Zoe Kypri. This is the first time the two Londoners have teamed up since their 2023 hit Horizon Red which was lauded as one of the best records of 2023 by the like of Pete Tong & DJ Mag. The final single 'I Remember' sees MBP team up with Kyozo and Blindsmyth, due for release on 19th June, before the full album drop on 31st July.\n\nAfter launching his own label 'Life In Colour' in 2025, Made By Pete decided to self-release the album, turning to his audience and community of supporters to enable the project rather than a traditional record label deal. \n\n'The landscape of the music business shifts so frequently, it can be hard to keep up. It feels like the rules change every day. The platforms and technologies that ripped up the industry playbook have also given artists more ways to directly communicate with their fanbase. For me that is an opportunity to be nurtured. The idea of mass appeal is dead. I don't need millions of fans to have long career in music. I want to connect with people on a deeper level and nurture that, rather than asking myself 'how do I appeal to more people.'\n\nAt the back end of 2025, Made By Pete successfully crowdfunded over $10,000 from fans who chose to support the concept of this album before hearing it. This was built on a foundation of trust between artist and consumer that carries forward from creation into release on the 31st July 2026 on Life in Colour.

    Loved You Most

    Beatport Banner

Made By Pete shares the second part of the first single from his debut album 'Rosebank', a collaboration with New Orleans based singer, songwriter Chelsea Hines. Part 2 of the release slows the tempo and shifts the focus to the album version of 'Loved You Most'. 'This album project was always about giving myself complete musical freedom. Coming from a DJ/Producer background playing in nightclubs, my singles have always had to fit into a 'dancefloor focussed' framework to make sense. Over the years there have been so many moments where great ideas have arrived but they just don't fit that framework. For years I left these songs aside with the premise that eventually I would return to them. After launching my label in 2025, it felt like the right time to bring them all together into an album.' Loved You Most was a jam that I recorded after getting my Prophet 5. I wanted to keep the vibe downtempo, melancholic and intimate. Last on it for a couple of years and eventually reached out to Chelsea Hines after finding her randomly through another song she had released. What she sent back instantly connected me, and Loved You Most was born.' After successfully crowd-funding over $10,000 from fans with an album kickstarter campaign at the back end of 2025', London born artist Made By Pete drops his debut album 'Rosebank' on his imprint 'Life In Colour'. 'Loved You Most' is the first of 3 singles leading to the album release on 31st July. Named after the road he lives on, where all the album was recorded at his home studio, Rosebank is the result of 5 years' work and project he's been yearning to deliver since his breakthrough as an international touring artist in 2023. Chelsea Hines is a New Orleans based singer and songwriter who sings, plays guitar and violin. She has toured the United States with several bands, and solo toured through Argentina and Italy with just a microphone and guitar. She collaborates with artists all over the globe and loves to integrate different genres from folk, to rock and shoegaze to electronic. Loved You Most is released on 27th March on Life In Colour..
