TIP Record's DJ/Producer Lucas O'Brien is back with the sequel to his highly acclaimed, chart-topping compilation 'Avant Garden' (2015) which features a selection of tried and tested sonically diverse tracks by some of his favourite artists that he's been playing in his DJ sets worldwide. For this project, Lucas sourced music from what he considers the most cutting edge, pioneering producers on the scene - Hallucinogen, Raja Ram, Ingrained Instincts, Outsiders, Laughing Buddha, Martian Arts, Earthspace, Audio Unit and Everblast - as well as being substantially involved in the production side himself under his various guises: 'SuperModule' (his solo project), 'Mandelbrot' (his project with Celli 'Earthling') and 'Sybarite' his project with Ric Featherstone. The compilation begins with one of Lucas' trademark introductions, once again collaborating with label founder Raja Ram. Designed to tickle the eardrums and get your body moving, Avant Garden II represents the flow of a psychedelic trance dance party by kicking off with a slower and groovier vibe, then building up the pace and intensity steadily as the album progresses... eventually reaching a more night-time style peak, whilst still keeping Lucas' characteristic funky element in the tunes. Towards the end of the album, the music transitions into a more dawn friendly style to land you safely onto a blissful cloud of psychedelia. As was the case with the first Avant Garden, Lucas used the exquisite artwork of TIP favourite visionary artist Brahma Templeman, this time commissioning a painting exclusively for the cover which illustrates a beautiful psychedelic garden.
