Returning to Elicit for the first time since the labels inaugural release, Lunar, label head Kessler marks the labels 10th EP with Thorned Rose. The tracks began through experimentation in Kesslers live sets, where ideas were developed, tested and reshaped through performance before being taken back into the studio. Dubby, textural and atmospheric soundscapes sit alongside light, melodic passages and darker, gritty textures, weaving between thunderous halftime rhythms and four-to-the-floor pressure. The contrast creates a tension between warmth and weight that runs throughout the EP, a trademark of Kessler's approach to dance music.
