In the Pacific Northwest the lines between various bass-centric genres are increasingly blurring, and EvoluShawn's phenomenal contributions to this blend of forward-thinking sound-system flavors are no exception. That may be a vague description for an artist who's dabbled in everything from hip-hop to dubstep to footwork, and, within the drum & bass sphere itself, played with jungle, halftime, autonomic and dubbed-out forms. You may have caught his previous releases on Forest Biz, Aufect, Sleeveless and compilation bits on Sublimate's 'Continuum' and most recent 'Reclamation' VAs. EvoluShawn's progression as an artist is displayed strongly in his first EP on Sublimate entitled 'Lost World' and we are proud to see him pushing himself to the next level as an up and coming producer. The release kicks off with the title track 'Lost World', a banging drum and bass number that embodies the artist's inspiration of a 'dystopian world past the point of no return'. It's a deep and emotional amalgamation of sounds past, present, and future. Next comes 'In The Rave', the first of two dubstep offerings on the EP, proper head down business with a spine tingling flute melody. The 3rd track 'Connection' is an emotional footwork-jungle piece with quick, tight breaks in a nod to classic Om Unit stylings. 'Fabricate' is a techy drum and bass dance floor destroyer with EvoluShawn's signature sample work and in-your-face drums. Rounding off the EP 'Let The Good Times Roll' is a textured, laid back, 140 sub-shaker.
