Newcastle-based artist Edmondson launches lissoms.xyz - the first listener-curated vinyl series where listener ratings determine which tracks get released. For each release, clips of eight unreleased tracks are shared on the page and listeners vote for their four favourites, with the top-rated tracks finished and pressed to vinyl. The cycle then repeats with a fresh selection. Rather than endlessly tweaking projects in isolation, this model provides finish lines while the music is still fresh and exciting to the artist, and gives the audience active control over the outcome. The four tracks which made the cut cover an expansive range of Edmondson's sound. Betamax brings loopy percussive techno, Crystalvisions spacey electro, Joao is a kind of slow burning clicks 'n' cuts house hybrid, with Samarkand closing out on a glacial dub techno tip.
