The first compilation of Russian Jungle and Breakbeat music, Jungle Book, was released in 1997 and came out simultaneously on three formats — audio cassettes, CD, and vinyl. In its time, the compilation caused quite a stir and became a unique brand of sorts, which remains recognizable even beyond the genres staunchest advocates. In 2000, the second edition, The Jungle Book Vol. 2, was released. As usual, the book was divided into two chapters: Breakbeat and Jungle. In 2023, after a long hiatus for the label, the third part, Jungle Book Vol. 3, was released. For the new Jungle Book Vol.4 2026 edition, we decided to adhere to tradition. The fourth volume of the book features the most interesting fresh tracks from new-wave artists, as well as from scene masters of that era. We deliberately moved away from the standard sound of modern studios because we wanted to achieve that dirty, basement sound, which can confidently be attributed to the hallmark of genuine Underground.
