Pipe and Pochet presents Solace EP, a 3-track collaboration between Maka Dama (Berlin) and Delcloud (Madrid), which started with a basement jam session in Madrid and continues across countries. Delcloud's rounded, carefully crafted grooves and warm, tender atmospheres intertwine with Maka Dama's organic, gritty analog sound design and deep, wistful vocals. The EP balances kinetic melodic house rhythms with a smoky, introspective touch, lively instrumentation and expressive melodies. Solace is set in a sleepless night, a reflection on the winding journey of healing that leads to making it through a rough day. Its opening bars evoke a gentle cricket-filled summer night before growing increasingly restless towards a driving and infectious climax. Oceans Out Of Time, inspired by ocean documentaries, flows in waves of fluid synthscapes and rolling percussion. With surreal imagery of human interaction with nature, the song carries feelings of longing and reverie. Fickle's psychedelic, jazzy guitar licks and hand percussion hint at its origins as a live jam session. The song opens up from a moody, intimate groove about scattered thoughts and moodswings into hopeful melodies and a catchy vocal hook.
