Deeb, born in 1986 near Turin in Northern Italy, developed an early passion for electronic music, starting to collect and play techno records at just 11 years old. Influenced by Detroit pioneers such as Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, and Underground Resistance, he soon moved from DJing to production, building a hardware-based setup centered around drum machines, synths, and sequencers. By 2004, he was performing in clubs around Turin, while his sound evolved from minimal techno into more experimental territories inspired by artists like Apparat, Telefon Tel Aviv, Aphex Twin, and Bjork. Between 2006 and 2008, he began producing tracks across minimal, house, and tech-house, later introducing his experimental alter ego DEEB for ambient and glitch-oriented work. Deeb has released music on labels including Coincidence Records, Stardub Records, and Blueten, and explored cassette formats during the pandemic with a series of ambient releases. In May 2026, he returns with a new EP, *Advanced Semiconductor Materials*, on Electric Appliances via Moodmusic, marking a refined and forward-looking chapter in his sonic journey.
Italian artist Deeb premieres on Science Cult with a moving tribute to Arni Gretar (Intellitronic, Moatun7) who sadly passed away in 2024. The EP follows the unique sound often championed by Arni Gretar's iconic label. The IXIANS wrap the EP up in stellar fashion with their uplifting remix. www.sciencecult.com
