Premutation is the sixth digital release on Morsecode Records — a label whose name implies a language of signals and patterns — and it arrives as Sancho's most conceptually ambitious project to date. The title is a deliberate play on words: something that exists before mutation, before the transformation is complete, a state of pregnant potential. What unites the EP is a consistent philosophy: music as identity puzzle. The arrangements are cubist — presenting the same emotional idea from multiple angles simultaneously, letting the listener assemble meaning from fragments. A bassline that sounds like a question.
