Following on from 2024's breakthrough "Ardere" and last December's remix companion, Toronto-based duo, Beije, make their second original appearance on Proton Music with the aural diptych, "Iso / Sthesia". Joining forces as Beije in 2018, Quinton De Freitas and Vance Morgan swiftly settled on a melodic, hypnotic strain of house that found early support at Manual Deep, Polyptych and 3rd Avenue in 2019. A single-minded dedication to their craft has since carried the pair's name across labels including The Purr, Café De Anatolia, Harabe and Paul Hazendonk's Manual Music, with their catalogue now stretching to more than a double century of production credits while staying true to the principles that has created the signature Beije sound. Beije's flourishing relationship with Proton Music began with a pair of remixes for Juan Deminicis' "Water" in March 2022 and Lisandro's "Love" later that year, laying the groundwork for a deeper tie to the label. As such, August 2024 saw Beije step forward with the release of the acclaimed "Ardere" EP, an original three-track debut whose title track sat alongside "Impetus" and "Lumina". A third rework of Savvas' "We Are", followed in November 2024, while the "Ardere" EP was revisited in December 2025 with Brazilian RIGOONI reshaping "Lumina", while Sri Lanka's NOIYSE PROJECT took on "Impetus" for a warmly received remix companion. Now, after an impressive 2026 thus far, with original releases on Harabe Lab, Kiksuya Records and Songspire Records, Beije return to Proton Music with sensational new music. Opener "Iso" is a built upon a trademark rolling groove with immaculately programmed head-shaking top line before a superbly imagined syncopated riff opens up alongside in delicious, open-filter prowess. Ethereal pads add atmosphere aplenty at the breakdown, as does a sustained bassline and additional chord progression. The result is a chilling sonic masterpiece. Partner track "Sthesia" picks up the pace slightly with rapid-fire shakers and driving beat. Quickly coming to the fore, a smooth melodic cadence hits the second movement while angelic voices create a choral feel. Building with club-friendly intensity, counterpoint melodies build on the rich sonic soundscape already present, revealed full at the mid-point before returning to rhythmic prowess of earlier phases. The result is a track that waxes and wanes with ease and a must for any club environment.
