Alejandro Molinari premiers his latest EP Culto A La Vida on the record label Phisica. The original EP features Alejandro Molinari's signature vocals and includes remixes by Elfeberg and Badwolf. Inspired by the poetry and writings of the Mexican author Octavio Paz, the Spanish lyrics reference his concept of the cult of life and the cult of death, both of which are interlinked in an eternal cosmic cycle - one must merge with the other in order for either to exist. The Spanish word tacha, which refers to the untethered ecstasy of life, recurs throughout the lyrics. Loyal to Italo bass and the post-punk vibe that is characteristic to Alejandro's sound, the track also features tribal percussions that accentuate the feeling of ancient rituals. The EP is followed with a remix by Elfenberg, a Stockholm-based duo who are also members of Oliver Koletzki's Stil Vor Talent family. They define their sound as a steady groove created in a primitive soundscape. Their version of Culto A La Vida gives the track an acid twist, with an arpeggiated bass driving a hypnotic dance tempo. The remix by Badlwolf has a minimal bass that evokes a dark seductive atmosphere. This is a track you open your eyes to in the middle of a packed dance floor, where all you can see are the strobe lights reflecting on people, distorting space and time. The cover art for Culto A La Vida was designed by Aleph Molinari, art director, photographer, and Co-Editor-in-Chief of Purple Magazine. The cover features a solarized and mirrored image of a beauty in the throes of ecstasy, embodying the cult of life.
