Hard to believe it took Safe Space 3 years to release its first Dub Techno VA, but here we are! Labelboss Ackermann starts things off with a kick heavy homage to dub originators like Scientist, King Tubby, Lee Perry and Prince Jammy, followed by label mainstay Black Mirror Park, who perfectly displays why his trademark chord workouts equally function on the floor and at home. Bondarük from Argentina pours a few bpm more into the fire and gets the girls dancing around it where brasilian Gabriel Marandola picks them up to take them to Detroit. Tino Trøster used to live there but now went full flexed german funkster with his track. Speaking of funk Ivan Emmanuel turned in one of the funkiest dub techno layouts we heard in a long time at the Safe Space bunker and next Stuttgarts best female producer TOX!KA lifts us back on the classic dub techno vibe with a light but anthemic summer outfit before Man With No Shadow pulls us down to the ground with his dry, heavy and monolithic slow burner of a tune.
