Legendary producer and Proportion head, Dmitry Molosh returns to the label with another EP of exceptional quality as he delivers Finish Line / Somebody Else. A figurehead at the vanguard of the Progressive House renaissance, Dmitry Moloshs ear for powerful melodies and hypnotic rhythms has seen the Belarusian features regularly on the playlists of the DJ global elite. A prolific and talented artist, both in the studio and behind the decks, his work dating back to almost 15 years has seen over 700 tracks feature on such seminal imprints as Cid Inc.s Replug, D-Formations BeatFreak Recordings and Hernan Cattaneos Sudbeat Music. Work for his own Proportion label has a seen a quartet of original EPs that include 2022s eponymous Proportion and Small Wonders EPs; the latter including a remix from el maestro himself alongside regular production partner, Marcelo Vasami. 2023 saw two twin-track offerings in the shape of Shining / Watercolour and Plant Growth / Shine Like a Star while a remix for MUUI in late-2024 saw Dmitry rework the Australians Outside Your Body. Now returning to Proportion, the commanding Finish Line immediately sets pulses racing with its whip-cracking kick and headshaking hi-hat groove. Evolving with effortless ease, a syncopated bassline emerges, rising to filtered intensity at the end of the first movement. Before long, an emotive vocal line creates a fascinating story of love and passion. Adding smooth melodic layers, interwoven between the rhythmic backdrop and melodic energy, the track builds to an arousing crescendo at the breakdown. In the final movement, melody and bass combine to magical effect to create a tender yet club-friendly affair of the highest order.
