LUKINS proudly presents 7 Layers — the debut collaborative album from Paons & Idaam. Both based in Brandenburg, Paons and Idaam are central to the LUKINS collective, known for its community-driven approach to electronic music. Paons is the solo project of Patrick Steppons — DJ, producer, and founder of LUKINS — who brings years of experience and a rich melodic sensibility to the table. Idaam, co-founder of LUKINS and member of the Save Your Culture collective, stands for process over product, drawing on shared studio moments and a sense of ease in creation. 7 Layers reflects the duos synergy: a sound shaped by intuition, trust, and curiosity. The album opens with TKCR & GDBY, a cinematic, breakbeat-infused track full of tension and tenderness. A Friend Of Giulia follows with playful guitar licks and a sunlit groove, while Low Gravity Moves takes things to the club — powerful basslines and soaring female vocals define this peak-time moment. On Shifting Shapes, a spoken-word passage flows through acid-tinted textures, offering a moodier, cerebral touch. SYC brings peace and clarity in the form of warm, melodic electronica, before Unframed dives into deeper harmonies with piano-led grooves designed for both dancefloor and introspection. The final track, Kupferhammer 058, closes the album on a nostalgic note — with childrens voices, delicate keys, and breakbeat rhythms that leave a lasting emotional impression.
