“Anodyne” is a digital bonus single from Sydney-based producer Drox, released as a follow-up to his debut 12” EP Hexameter, which dropped last year via Delphic Iris Records. While the full EP delivered tough, groove-driven club tools, “Anodyne” takes a looser, more playful turn — pulsing with crisp 808s, lo-fi Commodore64-esque blips, and synth melodies that nod to Yellow Magic Orchestra. It’s a raw and emotive machine-funk jam, equal parts nostalgia and forward motion. A late addition to the Hexameter story — and a good excuse to revisit it if you missed it the first time around.
