Based in Cape Town, South Africa, VIDIVI debuts on Bonzai Progressive with the outstanding 'Run EP'. We don't know too much about this extremely talented artist, but we do like the sound and we've no doubt it will make a positive impact on the scene. 'Run' opens the release with a fluid and energetic construction. A framework of punchy kicks, shuffling percussions and a chunky bassline lay the foundation for a pulsating rhythm that dominates throughout. Enchanting voices and ethereal sounds combine to create a wonderful melodic landscape against a backdrop of scathing FX and gritty riffs. A powerful dancefloor mover, not to be missed. 'Strong' continues the dominatingly tough edged groove theme with a thick club-edged vibe. Tight beats and rhythmic percussions keep the toes tapping as chugging bassline bubble up from the depths alongside captivating voices disguised in a swarm of buzzing synths. Cascading arps weave through the groove as emotive note changes reveal a sense of euphoria with a nostalgic flair. A top-notch cut that will not disappoint. 'Go Deep Space' rounds out the release, taking us on a cosmic trip filled with otherworldly pads and spacey FX. A subtle intro gives way to a warm, rippling bassline and thick, well-rounded kick drums. Slicing hats cut through the lower frequencies as infectious rhythms emerge. Hair-raising vocals combine with psy-esque synths in a lush progressive setting to deliver a sublime experience that captures a surreal moment in time. An outstanding effort and a must have.
