After a run of warmly received singles, Note presents the thing with feathers, his forthcoming EP via The North Quarter, the boutique label curated by Lenzman. Preceded by Multitudes, Floating (with MNQ) and Sunday Rains (with Meme Gold), each single showed Note in his strongest form yet, blending contemporary production with heartfelt emotion and translating his jazz influences into forward-thinking Drum & Bass. In its complete form, the thing with feathers takes this concept significantly further. Experienced as a full body of work, the EP reveals a cohesive and immersive journey where genre and tempo fall into the background. Jazz harmony, fluid rhythm and futuristic Drum & Bass aesthetics sit naturally alongside one another, allowing the music to be felt rather than categorised. These tracks now exist in the context they were always meant to be heard in. The project also marks a defining moment in Notes artistic evolution. Supported by the long-held belief of Lenzman and The North Quarter, he moves confidently into his own sonic territory, showcasing a refined production skillset and a sound that feels unmistakably his. What emerges is not a focus on BPMs or labels, but on identity, craft and emotional clarity. Written during a period of profound personal loss, the thing with feathers is Notes most intimate work to date. Created while coming to terms with the passing of his brother, the EP was not conceived as a record about grief, yet the emotional truth of that experience runs through the music. It is balanced by warmth, collaboration and quiet resilience. The project became his most collaborative work to date, shaped slowly and deliberately with close friends and trusted creative partners. That personal nature extends beyond the music itself. The EP artwork, created by Super Super, incorporates a selection of Notes own paintings, further grounding the release in his wider creative world and reinforcing the sense of honesty and reflection that defines the project. The title draws inspiration from Emily Dickinsons Hope is the Thing with Feathers and Max Porters Grief Is the Thing with Feathers, reflecting the duality at the heart of the record. As Note explains: This music is me untangling what it means to move through the world with a heart forever broken, yet still learning how to reconnect with joy in spite of it. With the thing with feathers, Note delivers a deeply personal and forward-thinking release that transcends genre and marks a clear new plateau in his artistic journey. This is my most personal work to date. I wrote this music while coming to terms with the loss of my brother. I didnt set out to make a record about grief, but its almost impossible to write honestly while going through something that immense, so this is what came out.

Re-Tide - Vibes The debut album by the Rome-based musical project RE-TIDE confirms a personal and mature sonic vision, rooted in funk and soul yet projected toward a modern electronic dimension. The artist shows a strong influence of jazz-infused sounds, with figures such as Kaytranada and Thundercat serving as key references for this musical language. Special attention is given to groove, always warm and enveloping, driven by deep basslines and elastic rhythms that interact with dark synths and nocturnal atmospheres. The collaboration with Mattei & Omich plays a fundamental role in defining the musical direction, contributing decisively to the creation of several 100\%\% club-ready tracks. In fact, the house incursions woven throughout the album make it particularly effective within a dancefloor context. A coherent and magnetic work, capable of uniting different genres and expressing a contemporary fusion of black music and pure electronic sound. Written by Daniele Omicciolo, Andrea Prezioso, Patrizio Mattei Produced by Daniele Omicciolo, Andrea Prezioso, Patrizio Mattei, Stefano Donato All instruments by Stefano 'Steff Daxx' Donato Drums & Grooves by Re-Tide Mastered @ DJMAZZOSTUDIO, Rome
Following the straight up jit battle footwork attack of last months Square Up EP Detroit turntablist, producer and Databass label owner, DJ Godfather keeps us guessing with a fresh EP that works across electro, footwork and ghetto-tech with equal aplomb. Thats Right (313) kick starts with the robotic electro of Algorythm before Godfather takes it to the Motor City streets to inject some extra Detroit jit footwork with Thats Right (313) and the aptly named Shake That Booty.
