First up are two contrasting versions from New Yorks Obie Fernandez, a regular face on Pure Trance. Obie describes himself as Musician. Consultant. Dad. Writer. Photographer. Sensitive Radical. Not necessarily in that order, but its the first occupation focusing on, here! Obies 145bpm Light Side and Dark Side mixes are bang-on the trance zeitgeist of the moment, but with a twist that descends into a filmic DandB section drawing directly from the original version, then dropping into a four-to-the-floor groove. His Dark Side remix is something else entirely, with an acidic bassline, club-ready FX and a beautiful, lush breakdown. Marking their upcoming release on Agrio Tracks, the duo presents a two-track project centered around energetic, vocal-driven club music with a strong 90s influence. Both tracks are built for the dancefloor, combining classic club elements with emotional depth and forward momentum. 'Yamaha Ibiza' grew from a drum and bassline idea that had been sitting in the studio for some time. Once pads and vocals were introduced, emo-leaning harmonies began to surface, giving the track its emotional edge. After the drop, a changing bassline adds extra movement and drive. The piano melody is taken from the iconic 'Yamaha Ibiza' preset on the Yamaha S30, one of their favorite hardware synths, also used to shape the bassline and pads throughout the track. 'Trentino' takes a different approach, starting from a simple piano chord loop and building the entire arrangement around it. The intention was to craft a trancey, uplifting track with clear hip-house influences, carried by a vocal that fully captures the track's euphoric and forward-pushing vibe. Blending nostalgic club aesthetics with modern production, this two-tracker delivers a focused and high-energy release, firmly rooted in emotional melodies, driving grooves, and vocal-led dancefloor energy.

Planetary Groove was their debut EP for Exploited Club; a nod to the 90s that is now taken in 2 fresh directions by Herr Krank and auspicious producer AUTOFLOWER. First up is Helios label head Herr Krank who braids Trance, Acid and Italo into a dizzying revision that does a fine job of channeling 90s euphoria whilst delivering something very fresh indeed. Shuttering synths and a vibrant acid line tag in and out while a serrated bass line gives the low end a stylish bite. Drums are quick and boisterous and the energy effervescent as the track powers on like a current of energy: fast paced and coursing forth with irresistible kinetic momentum. Next up on Critical Elements we welcome Matty Wright to the label. Matty is a talent weve been watching for a while and boy has he delivered. If the Space Brothers/Lustral/Chakra released a progressive breaks track in 2025 we think it would sound like this, which is only a compliment! Mattys original take is the epitome of dreamy. Deep and atmospheric bass and percussion washed over by a stunning vocal from Francesca Payne. This track already sounds like a memorable part of our scene, did you hear it played at a sun kissed festival in 99, or was it in a club in 2025? To add to the release we looked to label friend Focus FL for a remix. He has released with us before and has really worked his magic on this one. Here he opts for a 4/4 makeover, speeding up the BPM and toughening the sound for a version perfect for the nights crescendo. Focus FL provides a journey of a remix for us yet again, the filtered vocal and changes in key building the energy and drama.

Öona Dahl, an interdimensional artist known for her eclectic, cosmic soundscapes is making her return to Watergate Records. Following the success of her acclaimed Godtripper EP from 2020, the US-based DJ, producer and visualist is back to showcase a multifaceted musical vision with the High Priestesses EP. With this new release, Öona Dahl expands her sonic universe presenting three distinct versions of the title track. The original sets the tone in a progressive techno fashion with its slightly dark but driving atmosphere. Get Higher morphs the energy with a dynamic twist into melodic techno territory, while Neo Trance dives deeper into the promise hinted at by the tracks addendum. Kicking off 2025 with Kelch 15, Robert comes back to his home label with this low slung groove-laden acid burner. In typical Babicz-style, Heaven is a warm ride through soundscapes and with a slight melancholic feel, its just what you need during a cold winters day, hopeful for the upcoming spring. On the flip, Wasteland carries its weight through murckey pads and rough textured percussion elements, all held together by that special something that makes this a Babicz piece.
