Following the success of his nu-disco remake of Blue Monday, Israeli producer DE SOFFER returns with a stunning rework of Smalltown Boy — one of the most emotional and celebrated songs of the 1980s. This vocal was originally recorded for another project, but when the track didnt materialise, DE SOFFER asked to work with it — and he has absolutely delivered. Smalltown Boy is a notoriously difficult song to adapt for the club: the verses carry emotional weight, but the originals breakbeat-style structure doesnt translate naturally to a 4/4 floor. DE SOFFER solves that problem with style.
He keeps the iconic synths and melancholic beauty of the original, then adds an infectious disco bassline, guitar groove, and rich melodic lift that transforms it from an 80s anthem into a prime-time nu-disco floor filler. The extended version mirrors the originals emotional arc while dropping into a euphoric, arpeggiated electro-disco finale — the kind of end-of-night moment that leaves the whole ro.

Allen Craig is back on Moulton Music with a NuDisco heater thats ready to ignite the dancefloor. His latest single, Nightmare Fuel, is a chunky, conga-driven stomper loaded with groove. Michael Reinboths third release under his real name. Produced with Jan Krause (Beanfield). Cover image by Ena Oppenheimer. A vibrant mid-tempo delight. The drums are played by Peter Gall, whose album Love Avatar was named Best Jazz Album of 2024 by the German Jazz Awards. On keyboards is Roberto Di Gioia, mastermind of Web Web and Marsmobil. The rest, programming, production, is played by Michael Reinboth and Jan Krause (Beanfield). The Moodorama remix is just as wonderfully groovy. Moodorama is currently riding high, as evidenced by their other great remixes for Jazzanova, Charles Petersohn, Beatkozina, and Inkswel. After early Beanfield productions, circa 20 remixes (some old ones labelled simply Compost Remixes), more than 30 compilations and 30+ years of running Compost, a few 12s under alter egos, the Compost boss decides to liberate the alias and mystic.
