    Jazzy EP

    DPAZ

    Beatport Hype

For catalog no. 11, MiZi MuZiK welcomes DJ, producer, and audio engineer Diego Paz, who under the moniker DPAZ delivers a sleek strain of House that pairs artfully stripped grooves with an arp-infused metallic edge. On 'Jazzy,' he broadens the palette, folding beautifully weightless, jazz-tinged keys into his dub-charged undertow. Across three dark-but-airy cuts, that tension becomes the engine that merges ad-lib playfulness with compact, floor-ready grooves The title track opens on a heavy, suspended beat: a low, booming kick, sharp shuffling hats, and subdued piano stabs lock into a rolling, dubby throb. Ringing metallic percussion bites at its edges, while the filtered stabs blossom into bright piano flourishes before dissolving back into the undercurrent. Rich in overtones and laced with playfully interlocking delays, 'Jazzy' fuses a forceful core with fluttering keys, embedding a relentlessly cycling groove in a shifting bed of nostalgia and introspection. 'Jazzy B Part II' pares DPAZ's style back to its rolling core. A carpet of shakers—reminiscent of jazz brushes—glides beneath a spaced-out constellation of Rhodes chords and piano motifs, while rave-tinged arpeggios and staccato synth hits lend a modern, high-octane sheen. Moving effortlessly from one figure and sound source to the next, the elements weave in and out, refracting through the steady churn with beautifully extemporaneous edge. 'Dust Velvet' closes the record on its deepest note. Darkly frothing pads and enigmatic key themes cast a dense, shadowy haze, while metallic resonances writhe across the frequency spectrum like the blippy contortions of malfunctioning machinery. Balancing the percussive mayhem with cavernous melodic depth, DPAZ summons an otherworldly, pulsing séance that transforms warped, notched sound design into a deeply danceable, mesmeric atmosphere. From the title track's suspended heft to the shadowed depths of Dust Velvet, 'Jazzy' unfolds as a study in contrast, growing steadily more immersive without ever loosening its grip on the pulse. It's dubbed-out dancefloor hypnotism between airy keys and throbbing rhythms: smoky, soulful, beautifully engineered.

    Information EP

    Marc Spence

    Beatport Hype

Dirty Dungeon Records continues its groove-first approach with Marc Spence's Information EP - two tracks built around simplicity, movement and letting a strong idea do the work. Info Centre is all about one big, chunky groove. Rolling drums and bass provide the foundation while live vocal stabs, sharp chord hits and small flashes of detail give the track its character. Rather than constantly reaching for something new, the record stays locked into its central groove and lets that momentum carry it. Ingredients heads deeper, with a warm deep-house feel driven by groove, soulful chord stabs and subtle, quirky vocal touches. Pitch-bent pads drift in and out of the arrangement, adding movement and atmosphere without pulling the focus away from the rhythm underneath. Two different shades of the same idea: stripped back, characterful house music built around groove first - and another reflection of the creative freedom at the heart of Dirty Dungeon Records.
