Chromesthesia launches its inaugural compilation investigating soundscapes of errantry and migration along 15-20 sites of the global mangrove archipelago through the fundamental notion of sonic rights. From Rio to Cairo, Miami to Kampala - Chromesthesia probes the audiopolitics of diaspora. Who controls these sounds? How does music intersect with human rights? What does belonging mean in our globalised soundscape? The Global Mangrove Archipelago pulses with sound. From the Mexican to the Persian Gulf, the Atlantic to the Med. In its first of more-to-come iterations, Chromesthesia begins to map centuries of movement, resistance, and cultural creolite through music. Dancehall, baile funk, Arabic trap-bow - each track echoes resilience and creativity born from migrations crucible.
