Borderless People make a strong return to Piston Recordings with the fantastic Silent Correction, which follows their label debut, Dream Trip. The duo brings together Craig Hamilton and Rich Sutcliffe, better known as The Escapologist. After more than 15 years of running parallel creative paths, they finally united in 2022 to form Borderless People. Bridging the energy of Glasgow with the calm of The New Forest, their collaboration captures the boundless, communal heart of electronic music. Great to have them back for more. Silent Correction opens with punchy kick drums and crisp, shimmering hats, locking in a clean, driving pulse. Rhythmic percussion layers in, tightening the groove as a playful, rolling bassline begins to weave through the mix. Warm, smooth-voiced chord stabs rise gently beneath it, adding a soothing glow. Soft, airy vocal phrases drift across the beat, while vibrant keys dance lightly on top, giving the track a colourful, uplifting vibe. One Harmony gets going with a diva-esque vocal shot and crisp, sparkling hats, locked together with sharp claps and a thick, weighty kick that lays down a confident groove. Vibrant chords rise through the rhythm, lifting the energy as cool vocal snippets echo around a hypnotic, pulsing bassline. The break drifts into deeper territory, opening up with sweeping pads that stretch across the mix while the vocal builds in intensity, intertwining with swelling chords and playful, melodic keys. When the elements snap back into place, the track drops cleanly into its main groove for the final act.
