When Alaia & Gallo debuted on Soul Heaven back in 2016 with 'Who Is He?' the record quickly swept across dancefloors during that hot European summer. With Kevin Haden's serene vocal covering Bill Withers' timeless classic 'Who Is He (And What Is He To You)', Alaia & Gallo's skilful and refreshing take on the soulful house sound resonated with both selectors and the dancefloors they played it on. Now Glitterbox Recordings revisit this exquisite Soul Heaven essential, delivering a new remix package for a new decade. Featuring mixes from enigmatic mega-star Claptone, Australia's disco king Dr Packer and ultimate DJ's remixer to the stars The Reflex, who each turn their hand at 'Who Is He?' to give this blissful cut another lease of life. When Glitterbox maestro Simon Marlin, aka The Shapeshifters, reunited with CHIC's Kimberly Davis to bring us Second Chance, the track gave us the ultimate Studio 54 dancefloor feeling. Becoming an instant disco anthem, it was playlisted on Radio 2, giving the whole nation a reason to groove. With disco-lovers wanting more, this remix package features a remix from Italian producer Moplen, along with Simon Marlin delivering The Shapeshifters Reprise, putting a new spin on the much loved tune. Moplen, known for his remixes of house classics, takes on 'Second Chance' adding his distinctive drum sounds to the extended remix, crafting a rhythmic disco vibe and making the most of the exquisite strings. The Shapeshifters Reprise delivers a slow and dreamy build up that evolves to funk-filled bass, complimenting Kimberly Davis' punchy chorus. With the track's limitless dancefloor appeal expertly curated by Simon Marlin, expect to hear 'Second Chance' at Glitterbox parties and beyond for years to come. The Shapeshifters return to Glitterbox with their stunning dancefloor belter 'Try My Love (On For Size)', this time along with a classic disco remix by Dr Packer. Teni Tinks, a session vocalist and arranger who has worked with the likes of Rudimental, Quincy Jones and The Jacksons, lays down fresh vocals on the Sharon Redd anthem from 1980, now laden with fresh horns, strings and arrangement on the Club Mix. The king of disco re-edits Dr Packer slows the composition down, highlighting the impressive instrumental with filtered vocals beneath for a more classic sounding version of this wonderfully life-affirming record.
