  • In A Dream (Artic White Extended Remix)
BeatTracker #2 Feat. New Releases in Organic House

In A Dream (Artic White Extended Remix)

    Mallin

    Beatport New Releases

Some melodies never disappear. Mallin's In A Dream already tapped into one of dance music's most recognisable melodic memories, drawing from the same source as Dario G's huge 90s hit Sunchyme, which itself reimagined Life In A Northern Town by The Dream Academy. The original version was pure Mallin: warm, sun-kissed and beautifully relaxed. Chill house with melody, space and that effortless melodic touch he does so well. Artic White takes it somewhere else. After delivering Glasgow Underground's first Organic House number one with Paradigm, Artic White has become one of the label's most exciting artists in this space. That record is still sitting in the Organic House charts, with support continuing to grow, including a recent clip of Sasha playing it that helped drive it back up the chart. It is easy to hear why DJs are reacting. Artic White has a way of combining emotional chord movement with rolling organic house beats, giving records enough feeling for sunset moments but enough energy for serious dancefloors. His remix of In A Dream follows that path perfectly. The familiar melodic pull is still there, but the whole record now moves with deeper pressure. Rolling percussion, emotional chords and peak-time organic house weight turn Mallin's sun-kissed original into something bigger, stronger and built for the later part of the night. A beautiful melody, rebuilt for organic house dancefloors. Genre: Organic House Key use: Peak-time organic sets, sunset into club moments, emotional dancefloors

  • Into Your Soul
BeatTracker #12 Feat. New Releases in House

    Into Your Soul

    Marvin Sykes

    Beatport New Releases

Some house records are built for the moment when the room properly lets go. Marvin Sykes' Into Your Soul is one of them. Marvin has been making records for over twenty years, with releases across labels including WH0 Plays and Ultramoda. He knows how to build a groove that works on a real dancefloor, and that was clear from the first version of this track. The drums hit hard. The stabs had bite. The piano drop had energy without falling into obvious 90s pastiche. Everything was there for a proper peak-time house record. What it needed was a vocal hook strong enough to match the groove. Close your eyes. Lose control. Let the rhythm into your soul. That line captures exactly where this record lives. Heads down, hands up, bodies locked into the beat. Musically, Into Your Soul sits in the same kind of high-pressure house space as the records Kevin McKay plays peak time at Roast in London: driving, modern, hooky and built for serious room movement. For DJs into the CASSIMM on Rekids, Tiger Stripes and Club De Combat lane, this should make sense straight away. A thumping, peak-time house record with vocal lift, piano pressure and full dancefloor release. Genre: House Key use: Peak-time house sets, high-energy club moments, vocal house floors

Some songs become part of house music without ever really becoming house records.\n\nAll I Do is one of them.\n\nTaken from Stevie Wonder's Hotter Than July, it has been quietly loved by house producers and DJs for decades. In the 90s, sample-led versions and underground flips appeared because the chorus had exactly what dancefloors love: lift, warmth, emotion and instant recognition.\n\nKevin McKay has lived with those records since his early years as a producer, when Stevie Wonder's songwriting, studio detail and musicality became part of the education for a generation of house heads.\n\nThis version goes back to the song itself.\n\nRebuilt with live musicians and a new vocal from Jamal Edwards, All I Do becomes a modern Nu-disco record built for DJs who want classic songwriting with a current dancefloor feel. Warm bass, live-feel instrumentation and a chorus that still lands exactly where it should.\n\nNot a sample flip.\n\nA full disco rebuild of one of the great songs.\n\nGenre: Nu-disco / Disco House\nKey use: Peak-time disco sets, vocal house floors, feel-good club moments
