A few streaks of bluish light filtered through the woods, causing dust motes to tremble like wisps of smoke. Suddenly, a cold blue light cleaved through the twilight—it was that thing, its thin wings carrying an unawakened dream, fluttering at the boundary between light and shadow. Phosphorescent light, shaken from its wings, scorched the darkness into a breathing, flowing, cold, fragmented blue.
