Dread or Dead return with a deep and ceremonial offering from Belgian bass alchemist Skimir, formerly known as Datra. Drawing heavily on eastern influences, the title tune 'Sonum' sees Skimir channelling ritualistic rhythms, hypnotic scales and ancient atmospheres into a thoroughly modern slab of low-end pressure. The EP unfolds with originals 'Alright' and 'Ghostly Chat' displaying winding, serpentine melodies woven through dense layers of percussion, setting a mystic and foreboding tone. 'Losing Duel' features the talents of the HNI Crew who add their skills to Skimir's trademark weighty bass design and intricate drum work. The release is rounded out by a pacy and rhythmic remix of the title track, and features Mystic State's signature percussive mastery and smooth bass tones. Keep it Dread.
