With releases on Cloonee's Hellbent, Nervous, Spinnin', Insomniac, Kyle Watson's No Context and plenty more, Rafael showed up to our week in Belo Horizonte with a deep bag of tricks—and he didn't disappoint.\n\n"Booty Bang" lives up to its name with thumping drums, rolling grooves, and a vocal from Ishimaru that's impossible to ignore. On the flip, "Down N Down" takes a smoother route, pairing male and female vocals that play off each other over a warm, feel-good groove. Warning, this track does drugs. 'Uh Yeah (Thee Acid Song)' is fueled by a trippy, warped voice narrating her fascination and experience with Acid. It's an intense, 303-tinged rhythm put together by everybody's favorite Los Angeles DJ, Thee Mike B. Analog machine scientist, Lubelski, goes for a techno-fused interpretation and slows the beat to a crawl before bringing it back in full force, a vibe reminiscent of Lil Louis' classic 'French Kiss'. Rounding it out is a remix from the eccentric beat-twister, Salva, who turns out a breakbeat version that's ready for battle.
