Were delighted to welcome back talented producer duo Parasol Stars, hailing from Catalunya, Spain, to Bonzai Progressive with their brand-new release, the Nightshift EP — a worthy follow-up to their acclaimed debut, Parallax. Renowned for their masterful touch in melodic and progressive house, Parasol Stars have crafted an impressive catalogue, featuring releases on respected labels such as Natura Viva, Pyro Records, LW Recordings, System Recordings, Play This Records, and more. Their music is defined by intricate melodies, deep, evolving grooves, and immersive soundscapes — a sonic signature that beautifully merges emotive harmonies with driving rhythmic energy. Great to see them back here once again. The Original Mix opens thew release with an offbeat, driving bassline paired with a hypnotic pluck that instantly sets a deep, rhythmic pulse. As the atmosphere thickens, chunky kick drums and shimmering hi-hats slide in, locking the groove and giving way to evolving melodic sequences. The breakdown unfolds into a mesmerizing soundscape of bright plucks and airy FX with the bassline gently fading up beneath subtle, expanding synth motifs before we head back to full-on mode for the duration. One half of Parasol Stars, Felon Bias, steps into solo mode with a solid remix. Delivering a dancefloor-weapon, punchy floor-shaking kick drums and a throbbing, gravelly bassline immediately command attention as distinct, plucky melodies weave through the mix. Slicing hi-hats and crisp rhythmic percussion carve out a sharper, more energetic groove before the breakdown softens the intensity, easing into a calmer, spacious atmosphere, then the tension rises again—snare rolls building to a peak that launches the track back into the main groove for the final act.
