This is the first in a series of releases marking 20 years of Audiojack. We decided to start right at the beginning and retell our story, which you can hear on the 20 Years of Audiojack podcast, wherever you get your podcasts. A little over 20 years ago, we were two local Leeds DJs with big ambitions and absolutely no money. We decided the best way to get beyond our hometown was to make our own music, so we locked ourselves away every evening with the cheapest cider and worst production gear that very little money could buy, and tried to work out how our heroes did it. We were obsessed with the electro-house sound championed by labels such as 2020 Vision and Get Physical, and spent every evening and weekend producing, making around 40 tracks before we felt ready to send out any demos. Almost all remained unsigned, mostly for good reasons. Some of the ideas were there, but our production level had not yet caught up. For the first release in our 20 Years of Audiojack series, we've gone back to the very beginning, taking two of those early unsigned demos and rebuilding them for today's dancefloors. OK Hole has always felt like the unhinged little brother of our debut release, Robot: a gnarly, funky electro-techno delinquent that became an afterparty favourite and always felt like the one that got away. We've remixed, rebuilt and repurposed it for the modern day. We originally made Computer Talk to sound like computers talking to each another. Its feel-good electronic bassline is pure mid-noughties electro. For the 2026 version we've kept the original groove and character but rebuilt it with better sounds and two decades more experience.
