Samuel Andrasik debuts on Bonzai Records with the fantastic, energy driven 'Requiem For A Dream EP'. Based in Prague, Slovakian born Samuel uses the most up-to-date music technology to incorporate that modern day sound into his work while injecting layers of old school flavour for a sense of nostalgia. His artistic vision - driven by emotions, allows him to explore and convey personal or universal feelings through his work. Whether it's joy, melancholy, excitement or introspection, emotions can serve as the driving force behind creative decisions, influencing the textures, compositions and subject matter of artwork. Nonetheless, the result is imbued with a raw and authentic energy, inviting listeners to connect with their own emotions and experiences. The approach of his creative process receives support from artists like Charlotte De Witte and KI/KI, who showcase his production ranging from mighty, gargantuan festivals such as Lowlands, Awakenings, Movement, DGTL or Time Warp to bustling restlessly inside the walls of the underground techno temples including Bassiani, Kompass and Thuishaven to name a few. 'Requiem For A Dream' opens the release and gets right down to business with a thumping kick drum and rolling bass combo. Slicing hats and bright percussive elements enhance the rhythms as a steady 303 line binds the mids and lows beautifully. Hypnotic vox create a dreamy atmosphere while plucky synths bring that harder trance vibe. 'Apollo' is up next and can easily be a track that came out of Bonzai in the 90's hey-day. The epitome of that sound shines here with pounding drums and deep rolling basses at the core of the groove. Chaotic synth arps fade up along with classic vox before those infectious 'ahh' vocals take control. The final act is a truly authentic bubbling acid line that will ignite the dancefloor. 'Phantom' is next, taking us much deeper into the hard arena. Heavy hitting 909's and sharp hats combine as a chunky bassline dominates the low-end. Dark 303 lines sweep through the groove alongside striking vox and haunting voices. A retro gem that does not disappoint. 'Luminar' concludes this banging release with more of that wonderfully nostalgic, yet wholly modern sound. Tight beats and a powerful offbeat bassline are joined by shuffling percussions and atmospheric choir voices. An intriguing spoken vocal leads us to the main event where the choir takes on a melodic sequence, which offers stark contrast to the darker themes. Sporadic acid shots fill out the spectrum, making this a stomper that is not to be missed.
