Vega Records Unreleased V, Pt. 2 Change Demo (Synth Solo) / Marimba Beats The Funki Cadets return with Axel Tosca on synth solo duties with drums programmed by Louie Vega using all 808 sounds. Just an experiment to see how far it can go just using one unit. The groove with lush strings and chords brings you back to the 90s underground sound of New York City ready for a vocal and melody, so you never know who just might appear on the track in the future. Sometimes thats how house classics are born! Funki Cadets with Axel Tosca, Louie Vega, and Kenny Dope On Drums. A track created on the base of Marimba plays a rhythmic, rotating melody, with piano melodies and chords intertwining throughout the track, and a plowing synth bass played by Tosca himself. Music good for the soul! Funki Cadets, Louie Vega feat. Axel Tosca Vega Records Unreleased V, Pt. 2 CHANGE DEMO (SYNTH SOLO) Luis F. MAW222 MAW LOST TAPES 18 Blue Moon During all the late-night Masters At Work studio sessions (in the 90s), many new creations came about, some were used, some were put on the side for future use, and some just sat on the 2-inch tapes for decades. This is one that MAW had in mind for a seasoned house singer but never came to fruition as a full song. These vibes were strictly groove-oriented but had melody already for words to be put on the notes played or at least some guidelines. This one is smooth and two simple chords develop the feeling with driving beats and big snares. Then, it breaks out into a four-chord melodic chorus-like section which gives you that lift. Feels like its inspired by one of my fav early 80s instrumental bands Hiroshima (if Hiroshima went house :), thats just a hunch. Who knows maybe we will get a song on it, but for now here you have the raw out-the-studio late-night instrumental vibes entitled Blue Moon. Fifth Time Out The keyapellas were a version that Masters At Work did in the early years where we would give you the track with no drums so you could work two records or versions while DJing. Fifth Time Out is a track we came up with ironically without drums, these days you can add your own drums a track like this. We thought why not let everyone hear a track we started without the beat who knows someone may just add a dope beat to it!! We will add one anyway Im sure while messing around in the studio. This track also calls for some melody and lyrics with a wonderful voice!!! Enjoy the sounds of Fifth Time Out, a track done in its entirety in the mid 90s !!!!! From the MAW LOST TAPES!!!
