A rising force in the underground dance scene, Pedro Aurélio makes his Clubsonica debut with his J Doppler soubriquet and the "Marco Zero / Perspectives" EP. Inspired by such luminary figures as Kamilo Sanclemente, Hernán Cattaneo and D-Nox, Brazilian J Doppler rose to prominence after an October 2024 debut on South America Avenue. A clutch of releases on Spiritual Enhancer and Fluxo have followed, while a first release on Juan Pablo Torrez's imprint sees "Marco Zero" quickly hit its stride with a pounding beat and hypnotic rhythm. A syncopated riff adds to the aural collage before a flowing free-form lead adds subtle juxtaposition, revealed fully at the beatless breakdown. Building once more, the track explodes into life in the second half to create a dynamic and club-friendly extravaganza. Joined by a relative newcomer with releases on the likes of AH Digital, Another Life Music, and Ruben Karapetyan's RKP, J Doppler and Mateo Tapia combine to powerful effect on "Perspectives". Characterized by a bouncing bassline groove and chunky rhythmic groove, the track bristles with club know-how as a smoothly filtered arpeggio rises and falls alongside the driving kick. Additional motifs cascade through the melodic layers, building through the breakdown to create hands-in-the-air tension under a sultry female vocal. Hitting its mark in the third movement, the track is propelled forward by the vibrant combination of rhythm and melody to a magical feel-good effect. On remix duties, Greg Ochman is a self-confessed "colourful and mysterious Organic House Electronica dreamer, exuding freshness crafted with style". No better is Greg's love for dance music illustrated than in almost 250 production credits for the likes of Univack, Plattenbank, and Soundteller Records. Centred around 2021's 3-track "Mistlove" EP, the Polish artist's work for Clubsonica Records has also been complemented by remixes for Juan Sapia and Claudiu Adam. Now returning for the first time since mid-2024, the Greg Ochman remix of "Marco Zero" takes the central melodic themes of the original and extends them in bright new directions with a glassy glissando lead and spine-tingling sustained bassline. Evolving easily over its 8-minute timeframe, the track breezes along with its new melodic variation, creating an immaculately produced interpretation that fizzes with new energy. The final remix sees iconic artist Alfonso Muchacho take centre stage. Based in London, the UK stalwart has been a staple across the clubs of the capital alongside a string of events and festivals in Europe. A driven and relentless attitude toward his craft has seen over 800 production credits sit proudly next to the Alfonso Muchacho name, including nearly 200 for Superordinate Music and over 50 for his own Above The Storm. Further releases on Stellar Fountain, Stripped, and Electronic Tree are now joined by a typically mature reworking that takes "Perspectives" in a dramatic direction with intricately programmed rhythms vying with delicious new melodic variations in a mesmerizing, deeper, darker vibe. Building with ease, a nod to an old-school House vibe emerges at the breakdown with its piano chops and vocal sample usage. Dropping back into a familiar groove in the latter stages, the Alfonso Muchacho remix illustrates why the UK artist's production work is still much sought-after.
