Launching a new series on Critical Elements we welcome friend and label compatriot Moonface. Some artists span decades as well as genres with pure musical professionalism and quality, they're hard to come by but Phil Thompson has it in volumes. Landing firmly on our radar as clubbers in the crowd at Bedrock Brighton in the early 2000s we became instant fans of Moonface's signature warm up sets for John Digweed. His unique talent for both building the energy on a dancefloor and rocking the headline event was something we knew would translate to our label perfectly. As Moonface, Phil helped launch our label with the very first release KingsTon with a T in 2024. He's been a constant part of our label releases, DJing at our label parties, as a friend and a valuable source of musical advice ever since, so it was only right that Phil launched our artists journey series. 22 tracks await on this journey, spanning genres, tempos, spoken word, dubs, originals, labels, Moonface remixes and associated artist remixes of Phil's work, it really is the full package.
