The first took place in December 2023 at Pulse, a project space housed in a wooden cabin among the pine forests of Brandenburg, surrounded by a snow-covered landscape. The second session took place in Artefakts Berlin studio, where both piano movements were recorded and the arrangements took shape. All tracks were later mixed by Robin Koek in his Amsterdam studio. Collaborations is a series curated by Artefakt on their own imprint De Stijl, inviting friends and likeminded artists into live studio improvisations that capture new musical connections through instinctive exchange. KMRU, the Nairobi-born, Berlin-based sound artist, is known for his immersive use of field recordings, ambient textures and experimental composition.
